The Ultimate Answer

If one types "the answer to life, the universe, and everything" into Google (without the quote marks), one will receive the answer 42 by Google calculator.

Here's why, according to "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy":

Some time ago a group of hyper-intelligent pan dimensional beings decided to finally answer the great question of Life, The Universe and Everything.

To this end they built an incredibly powerful computer, Deep Thought. After the great computer programme had run (a very quick seven and a half million years) the answer was announced.

The Ultimate answer to Life, the Universe and Everything is...

(You're not going to like it...)

Is...

42

Which suggests that what you really need to know is 'What was the Question?'

Democrat for a Change

~THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT, BROUGHT TO YOU BY TIMELY MANOR~

My friend, AB, sent the below message to me recently. I may be "preachin' to the choir" here, or in some cases not. Either way, I encourage you to check out the videos. Even more importantly, I urge you to vote on Tuesday, November 7th.

Hi,

A friend of mine and I just launched 10 original ads to help get Democrats elected and we posted them on YouTube.
Note that many of the people in these videos are former Republicans speaking to Republicans. The messages reflect a more moderate tone than you might expect from me. It may appeal to you.

You can check out our channel with all 10 ads here:

http://youtube.com/democratforachange

Please check them out and spread them around to friends and family as you see fit. They're all targeted to people who don't generally vote Democrat, so the wider we spread our net, the more likely we'll be able to impact the election. We are using the blogger community to gain some initial audience, and will get Democratic congressional campaigns to distribute the links as well.

I warn you, they are home made. This sums it up:

1 video camera borrowed from a friend: $0

1 professional director of photography we found on Craigslist: $0

9 people we found to star in our ads : $0

2 DV videotapes: $10

6 bagels, 8 muffins, cold cuts, waters, sodas, snacks and sundry other groceries to feed our tireless cast and crew: $80

1 editor (also from Craigslist) to spend countless hours logging, cutting, editing and uploading: $100

Making 10 people-powered political ads to help Democrats get elected: priceless

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

John
